I finally found her:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Had to create a fucking Facebook account to message him.
We’ll see how this pans out.
Update:
Talked with Andy for a long time last night. Turns out he’s feeling out right now, he’s hoping he gets one last roofing job to make his downpayment on a new house, but if he doesn’t he will be selling the car.
Turns out he loves it and doesn’t want to sell it, but buying a better house for his family is priority one, so he’s seeing where things land.
Super cool guy, also loves 90s Mopars, so I would guess we’ll end up hanging out regardless.

Are you gonna buy back your old car??
![]() 10/04/2019 at 07:28 |

I’m not saying yes, but I’m definitely checking it out.
As long as it hasn’t been beat within an inch of it’s life its very possible.

Good luck!

Seems like a decent price as long as he didn’t trash it? How long ago did you sell it?
Good luck!

Was it purple before? Can I have some back story?
![]() 10/04/2019 at 08:47 |

No paperwork?...
![]() 10/04/2019 at 09:42 |
|
I was wondering about that. No paperwork as in they don’t have documentation on the engine swap or no paperwork as in they don’t have the title?

Classy bunch in that comment section.
![]() 10/04/2019 at 10:04 |

Did the current owner put on the “built not bought” decal?
Either way it’s a lie now.
If you buy it back it’ll be built AND bought.

No documentation on the motor and trans.

The comments on that listing are cancerous, seems to be some pent up rage there.

I love the term Beaters with Heaters, I’m gonna use that more often.

How about the whole story?

Its been about 5 years.
Seems like he’s taken decent care of it.

That was mine.

Probably all the people who got their asses handed to them by it.....
![]() 10/04/2019 at 10:14 |

Wow, just wow. Good luck,! I would like to see this thing polished up and resprayed.

Talking with the guy currently. If I don’t buy it back, my friend ( the one who bought it from me initially) is going to send me the money so I can grab it for him, so one way or another it will be in my driveway again for a while.

The “Import Killa” comment is funny though. After all, it is a Mitsubishi engine.
![]() 10/04/2019 at 10:40 |

I remember that car! I like how you built it!
![]() 10/04/2019 at 10:55 |

Rod Miller seems a bit wound up about this car.
![]() 10/04/2019 at 12:13 |

Not sure what his problem is. Probably jealous he’s never actually built anything in his life.
![]() 10/04/2019 at 12:14 |

It was both serious and ironic.
If it still has what it used to, there’s not much that could touch it as far as Imports went. Had no issue waxing tuned WRXs, boosted Hondas, or FoSTs.

For some reason I don't think that bothers you
![]() 10/05/2019 at 07:56 |

Not like I know the guy that built the motor and trans or anything......
![]() 10/05/2019 at 09:07 |
|
Based on that, hopefully he gets some work and can keep the car, I think - no offense, but sounds like he’s enjoying it but is in a tough spot.
![]() 10/05/2019 at 09:10 |
|
I agree. I know how it feels to sell something you love because of a tight spot.
![]() 10/05/2019 at 11:35 |

Care to give a brief explanation of what let it do that? I believe you I’m just curious, and I would think the low curb weight would help. (never mind I already saw your link to your thread thanks!)

Probably some idiot teenager who could t afford a Honda
![]() 10/05/2019 at 11:39 |

It was putting down around 200 hp, with 220-230 ft-lbs. The powerband was from roughly 1800 rpms to about 5800 rpms. The gearing in the trans kept every gear right in the powerband. And it only weighed around 2500 lbs.
![]() 10/05/2019 at 11:48 |

And that’s just a NA V6 that’s been ‘built’? Nice
![]() 10/05/2019 at 11:54 |
|
Simple intake, exhaust, and big throttle body gives them a 30 hp, 20-ft-lb bump. Taking them from the stock 140/173 crank to 173/196 at the crank . Dig into shaving heads, better cams, and major port work, they quickly push over 200.

And the trans and axels and mounts and everything don’t mind?
![]() 10/05/2019 at 12:06 |
|
The factory axles hold up fine, but replacements are junk.
The mounts were changed over to solid poly mounts.
The trans didn’t mind the extra power at all, the diff pin didn’t like all the clutch dumps though. Once I swapped to the Spirit RT internals it was fine as well.
